Why I love Emerson...

1. I am his best friend right now, and he's mine.
2. He has the longest baby fingers I have ever seen and I love to hold his hands.
3. He has the most adorable cry-even at 3 in the morning it brings a smile to my face.
4. He is a very peaceful baby, until I change his diaper or change his clothes.
5. He loves to just stare into my eyes when I feed him-I can't describe how much I love him.
6. He makes darling faces while he sleeps.
7. His arms are so long and floppy he doesn't know what to do with them.
8. He always sucks in his bottom lip.
9. He stretches and makes kitty cat sounds.
10. I love to lay him on my chest and talk to him and he just looks at me.

I love everything about my little boy. He is the most perfect thing in the world to me.

Baby Emerson

Our little boy is finally here! I was induced Friday January 23rd, 2009 and he was born at 7:42 pm. I had an epidural, so the discomfort level was minimal. I pushed for about 45 minutes, and out came my little critter! After pushing for about half an hour, the nurse made me stop and said my dr. might need to do a c-section on another patient, and if that was the case I would have to wait half an hour for him to deliver my baby. At this point, the babies head was all but out, and my epidural was wearing off. Luckily-the dr. didn't have to do the c-section, and got to me fairly quickly. The delivery was great, and Emerson is pefect!
He weighed 8 lbs 2 0z and was 20 inches long. He is an angel! He is eating, sleeping, and pooping like a champ. I never thought I would EVER be a breast feeding mama-but I am doing it and it's going quite well. I can't believe how much I love being Emerson's mom-it is an indescribable feeling.

Emerson.....

is coming Friday. I have been really sick since Sunday-flu like symptoms which I hear are normal for pre-labor kind of stuff. Friday when I saw the doctor he set an induction date for Monday the 26th. Well, I went today and thank the maker my blood pressure was a bit high, and I lost 5 lbs so they moved my induction date up to Friday! This works great for us so Juan can stay with me all weekend, and then I will go to my moms for a few days after the baby is born while my sister and brother are in town.
We are excited to see our baby Emerson, and hope all goes well. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Punched!!

Yesterday I got a call from Pablo's school. As soon as I saw the number show up on my phone my stomach sank-(not too far obviosly because baby Emerson is still living it up inside my belly!) I answered and his teacher said Kati, it's Jen do you have a second. So of course, I think he did something bad-what could be worse than spitting on your friend, peeing your pants again...getting time out... so she says well Pablo got punched in the nose and bled everywhere. I laughed-probably not the reaction she was expecting. I said oh it's fine Jen-boys will be boys! She went on to explain that Pablo had been playing with 3 of his ratty friends and they were getting along fine, when all of a sudden one of them got an angry look on his face and punched Pablo right square in the nose.
Pablo is a master melt-downer so he fell to the floor in sobs, and blood started gushing everywhere! I guess they rushed him to the bathroom and address the bloody nose, and then he had to lay on the couch. All the kids were comforting him and saying how rude the puncher was. Jen told me Pablo had a little twinkle in his eye-I assured her he loved his life with all of the attention!
The teacher told me she had to call the punchers Mom, and she felt awful and asked if she should call me to apologize. I told the teacher that wasn't necessary but she could just make me cookies. The teacher asked what kind and I told her oatmeal raisin were my favorite. She said they were also her favorite-so I assured her if she made it happen we could go half on the cookie deal!
I picked Pablo up from school a few minutes after our phone call, and his poor teacher was almost in tears. I gave her a hug and reminded her what a blessing it was it was my kid that got punched and not one of her crazy moms!
Oh boys.... the dumb things they do!

Baby Emerson

He is on his way.....just not real sure when yet! I went to the dr. today and am dilated to a 2 1/2 and 80% effaced. SO...Mr. Emerson is preparing for his big debut sooner than later I would guess! I'll keep you updated when I am not having contractions.....
