This weekend we blessed Emerson and baptized my nephew all in one day! It was a pretty great event though. We named Emerson after my Grandpa Fish (George) and in Emersons blessing my brother in law told him to look to Grandpa as a man who has always been a hard worker and a good man and strong in the church. My grandpa has always been my best friend and an amazing man in my eyes-but now I know my son will have the same thoughts and an inspiration for something great to look up to. His blessing also said Juan and I are strong people who love him and will teach him right, and that he will serve a mission and have the opporunity to touch many lives. I am so excited for the life my little critter has ahead of him. My brother in law Jacob blessed Emerson and Uncle Wayne, Steve Bentley, Mike Jolley, andJake's Dad Larry all stood in to perform the blessing. I am thankful beyond belief for my brother in law being able and willing to perform the blessing. It's kind of hard not having a Dad to count on for those things-but I am blessed to have the second best-a brother by marriage. Jacob has been around long enough he is pretty much a brother!

Our baby boy!
Emerson is still...amazing! We are having a great time with him in our family. He still loves his Mom the best of course and we are the best of friends. I think we are figuring eachother out and getting along just fine. He is a great eater-so great in fact his pediatrician suggest I sell my breast milk because he is so chubby. Last week he weighed 9lbs and 11 oz. Almost 10 pounds of sugar for me to love on.
He is a great baby--he is very calm and peaceful unless he is hungry, getting his diaper or his clothes changed. Then he kind of looses his mind. Sometimes when he wakes up I sing songs to him, and I'm certain he smiles and laughs at me. Maybe I'm crazy-but I like to pretend he thinks I'm as funny as I do. =)
Emerson is sleeping fairly well at night-typically waking up only twice to eat. Occasionally he'll wake up more often and I get so tired I just lay him in bed beside me and he falls alseep every time! He loves our bed I guess-or he loves to sleep close to his Mama! He also LOVES to sleep with his Dad-they spend lots of time in the bed!
We got Emersons birth certificate and social security card this week. It was really weird to see my name as the Mom on his birth certificate. I know it's real, and I know he's my baby-but it's still all sort of weird!

Emerson
his belly button fell off! He is still darling...still my best friend...and I think he might be a mama's boy--he will be if I have anything to do with it of course!
I am loving being a Mom to Emerson..he is a great little baby and I am feeling so blessed to get to spend so much time with him!

Why I love Emerson...
1. I am his best friend right now, and he's mine.
2. He has the longest baby fingers I have ever seen and I love to hold his hands.
3. He has the most adorable cry-even at 3 in the morning it brings a smile to my face.
4. He is a very peaceful baby, until I change his diaper or change his clothes.
5. He loves to just stare into my eyes when I feed him-I can't describe how much I love him.
6. He makes darling faces while he sleeps.
7. His arms are so long and floppy he doesn't know what to do with them.
8. He always sucks in his bottom lip.
9. He stretches and makes kitty cat sounds.
10. I love to lay him on my chest and talk to him and he just looks at me.
I love everything about my little boy. He is the most perfect thing in the world to me.

Baby Emerson
Our little boy is finally here! I was induced Friday January 23rd, 2009 and he was born at 7:42 pm. I had an epidural, so the discomfort level was minimal. I pushed for about 45 minutes, and out came my little critter! After pushing for about half an hour, the nurse made me stop and said my dr. might need to do a c-section on another patient, and if that was the case I would have to wait half an hour for him to deliver my baby. At this point, the babies head was all but out, and my epidural was wearing off. Luckily-the dr. didn't have to do the c-section, and got to me fairly quickly. The delivery was great, and Emerson is pefect!
He weighed 8 lbs 2 0z and was 20 inches long. He is an angel! He is eating, sleeping, and pooping like a champ. I never thought I would EVER be a breast feeding mama-but I am doing it and it's going quite well. I can't believe how much I love being Emerson's mom-it is an indescribable feeling.

Emerson.....
is coming Friday. I have been really sick since Sunday-flu like symptoms which I hear are normal for pre-labor kind of stuff. Friday when I saw the doctor he set an induction date for Monday the 26th. Well, I went today and thank the maker my blood pressure was a bit high, and I lost 5 lbs so they moved my induction date up to Friday! This works great for us so Juan can stay with me all weekend, and then I will go to my moms for a few days after the baby is born while my sister and brother are in town.
We are excited to see our baby Emerson, and hope all goes well. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
